Save a link
Give smry the URL. It fetches the page, keeps the clean text, and files the item.save this and tag it pricing
save_article · 1 call
The URL is the identity. Save the same link tomorrow and you get the same item
back rather than a duplicate, so an agent that retries costs you nothing.
Save text you already hold
Not everything has a URL worth fetching. A draft, a transcript, a file on disk, the output of a long research run — hand the text straight over and smry keeps it as an item like any other.save this transcript to my library, title it “Q3 customer calls”Uploaded files keep their original bytes too. The PDF you saved streams back byte for byte later, not as a text approximation of itself.
Sort it as you go
Every item carries four handles, and your agent can set all of them.move everything tagged hiring out of my inbox and into later
star this one, I’ll want it againYour agent can change up to a hundred items in one pass, so a messy research session gets tidied in a single instruction.
The tab you closed three weeks ago
smry records what you have read and how far you got. Read progress comes back on every item, so “the thing I started and abandoned” is something your agent sorts for rather than something you remember.what did I read last week and not finish?Asking questions of all this is its own page — see Ask your library.
Forty links from one research session
Hand over the pile and your agent saves them one at a time, telling you how each one went. Tag them on the way in and the pile is a collection instead of a backlog.save all of these, tag them competitor-research, and put them in laterForty links is forty saves. Each link smry has not read before spends a fresh extraction, and a free account gets 10 a minute and 100 a day, so a big pile is worth splitting across a couple of sittings. Entries from the sources you follow are saved the same way. So is anything a monitor turned up.
What your agent cannot do
Your agent can read every note and highlight you have made. It cannot make one. Notes and highlights are created in the smry reader, by you, while reading. There is no way to write one over the API, so never ask an agent to “add that to my notes” — it has nothing to call. Everything else about an item is writable: save it, tag it, star it, move it, mark it read, correct what kind of thing it is, delete it.Questions
Does smry keep the whole article?
Does smry keep the whole article?
Yes. The clean text is stored, along with the title, author, publisher, and
publication date when the page carries them. If the page later disappears,
your copy does not.
What if the same link gets saved twice?
What if the same link gets saved twice?
You get the existing item back, flagged as already saved. Saving is
idempotent per URL, so retries and duplicate agent runs never litter the
library.
How much can I store?
How much can I store?
A free account holds 100 MB of library storage; paid plans hold 10 GB and
100 GB. Individual uploads cap at 100 MB, and anything parsed for text caps
at 25 MB.
Can I get everything back out?
Can I get everything back out?
Yes. Your agent can list every item, stream every original file, and replay
every change and deletion since any point in time. Nothing is trapped.
What happens when I delete something?
What happens when I delete something?
The item goes, and an uploaded original is permanently deleted from synced
storage. Highlights and notes you made on it are kept.
Who can see my library?
Who can see my library?
Only you, and whatever agent you have given a credential. A library item is
never public and never shared by saving it.
