USPS says there are no ongoing delivery issues.Two local union leaders representing thousands of U.S. Postal Service workers say the federal postal service has dramatically cut back on overtime for Indianapolis postal workers in recent months, leading to days where some carrier routes don't get finished and mail goes undelivered.On some days, they say, there's no overtime available at all, even as unsorted and undelivered mail piles up.When USPS letter carriers are out on leave or limited to light work duty, other people must fill their routes, often utilizing overtime to do so. But with no one approved to take on the extra work, according to a policy that union representatives say originated at the national level, the mail on those routes sits in the branch offices instead of being delivered to residents."They are trying to do more with less and can’t do the normal amount at all," said Greg Jones, president of the American Postal Workers Union Local 130, which represents about 1,400 USPS truck drivers, custodians and clerks in the Indianapolis area.”
